🛠️ Installation Tips
-
Pre-Lube is Critical: Before assembly, soak the new rotors and the pump housing in clean engine oil. Never install an oil pump "dry," as initial friction can score the precision surfaces before oil pressure builds up.
-
Check the Housing Case: Inspect the engine casing where the oil pump sits. If the case surface is scratched or gouged from a previous pump failure, the new pump may not provide full pressure.
-
Alignment of Rotors: Ensure the inner and outer rotors are seated correctly within the housing. They should rotate smoothly by hand without any "notchy" feeling or binding.
-
Verify the Drive Pin: Pay close attention to the small drive pin or keyway. If this is not aligned perfectly during installation, the pump shaft will spin without turning the rotors.
-
Use New Gaskets/O-rings: Always replace the O-rings or gaskets associated with the oil passages. A small air leak on the suction side will cause a massive drop in oil pressure.
-
Prime the System: After installation and refilling the oil, remove the spark plug and kick the engine over several times to circulate oil before actually starting the bike.

🔍 Troubleshooting Guide
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
| Low Oil Pressure | Air leak in intake or worn rotors. | Check O-ring seals on the oil lines. Ensure the rotors were installed with the correct clearance (not upside down). |
| Metallic Ticking Noise | Lack of oil to the top end. | Stop the engine immediately. Check if the oil pump drive gear is engaged correctly. |
| Pump Won't Turn | Debris jammed in rotors. | If the previous engine had a failure, metal shavings might be stuck. Flush the oil tank and crankcase thoroughly. |
| Oil Leak at Pump Cover | Pinched O-ring or uneven torque. | Inspect the O-ring for damage. Tighten the mounting bolts in a star pattern to ensure even sealing. |
| Premature Pump Wear | Dirty oil or contaminated filter. | Always change the Oil Filter and use high-quality synthetic oil when replacing the pump to ensure longevity. |
