🛠️ Installation Tips

  • Check the Fitment: This axle is designed for Solid Rear Axle (SRA) models. It will NOT fit "IRS" (Independent Rear Suspension) models with CV boots at the differential.

  • Moly Grease is Mandatory: Apply a liberal amount of Molybdenum Disulfide grease to the splines that enter the differential and the hub areas. This prevents the "metal-to-metal" galling that makes future removal impossible.

  • Protect the Seals: When sliding the axle through the differential, be extremely gentle to avoid slicing the inner oil seals. A nicked seal will cause gear oil to leak into your brake drum or onto the trail.

  • Dual Nut Security: This kit includes the necessary nuts. Ensure the inner nut is torqued to spec, and the outer lock nut is tightened against it to prevent backing off under heavy vibration.

  • Clean the Brake Drum: Since the axle passes through the rear brake assembly, clean any old debris or rust from the brake drum housing to ensure the axle seats perfectly flush.

🔍 Troubleshooting Guide

Issue Possible Cause Solution
"Clicking" from Rear End Loose axle nuts or worn splines. Re-torque the axle nuts. If the noise persists, check if the wheel hub splines are stripped and slipping on the axle.
Rear End Vibration Bent axle shaft. Often caused by hitting rocks or heavy side-impacts. Jack up the rear and spin the wheels; look for "wobble" in the shaft itself.
Oil Leaking onto Axle Failed differential oil seal. The axle doesn't hold oil, but it seals the differential. If oil is coating the shaft, replace your differential seals (91255-HR3-A21).
Axle Won't Slide In Debris in diff or burred splines. Inspect the internal gears of the differential for broken teeth or metal shards. Lightly file any shipping burrs off the axle splines.
Hub Moves but Axle Doesn't Stripped internal splines. This happens when riding with loose nuts. You must replace both the axle and the wheel hub to prevent the new axle from stripping.
